As a youth, he was a member of a teenage gang which "terrorised L8". And, over the next decade, his name would only become increasingly more infamous within South Liverpool.
Liverpool Magistrates' Court heard on this occasion that the louts would prowl the community on scrambler bikes while regularly damaging property, hurling abuse at innocent bystanders and stealing from shops. One business owner said: "On many occasions I was forced to close my business early due to their intimidating behaviour, and some of my staff have left their jobs as they have been too scared to come back.
Sentencing them on this occasion, Recorder David Turner QC said: "There can be no doubt that this is an incident of gang violence. One does not want gang law in Liverpool and innocent people becoming involved." Omar was described as having "squared up" to the boy who would later attack him during this altercation. The 16-year-old was pulled away by another youth, who had spotted that the events were being recorded by CCTV cameras, before walking away and entering a shop.
He would later admit attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm upon Omar, and was sentenced to three years detention on December 11 2017. His conviction came as part of the investigation into the murder of Mr Sonko, who was gunned down around a mile away and roughly an hour-and-a-half later. The following month however, he was handed an injunction banning him from associating gang allies and entering parts of the city for two years. And breaches of this court order would see him locked up over Christmas that year.
But officers struck on the afternoon of the final date after he was visited by a number of wanted men, including Nze. Inside, they discovered a "street dealing operation". A series of flare messages, advertising drugs for sale, were also found on the phone. CCTV meanwhile showed that around 30 visitors had attended his hotel room "at various times of the day and night", with him and his associates coming and going while carrying food and rucksacks.
"Its prolonged use over time can and does lead to mental health problems. We see this in the courts day in, day out.
