Shocking footage showed chaotic scenes erupting after the Blackpool and Wigan Athletic football game at the DW Stadium on Saturday .
Greater Manchester Police were criticised by some fans on social media, with one person posting a video claiming officers 'went off on one'. Footage appeared to show a number of people being pinned to the ground by officers as the rowdy crowds were moved along.The footage, posted to X, formerly Twitter, showed a large number of officers responding to the disorder, with multiple police vans parked up outside the entrance.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "After full time in the Wigan Athletic v Blackpool match, supporters from both clubs came together when leaving the stadium, with the intention of causing disorder.
