The shelter said: ‘She’s sat & watched other dogs do this thousands of times. Love, kindness, time & patience pay off in the end.
‘This was on her 601st day at our rescue. All in your own time beautiful girl. There’s no clock ticking on how long you can stay here.’Instead the dogs are free to mix with others and play together as they undergo rehabilitation following traumatic experiences.Eventually the dogs are rehomed with the shelter aiming to change people’s perceptions of what rescue dogs are like.
The shelter added: ‘Betty is a smart, sweet dog who was unbelievably afraid. It was unthinkable to us to end the life of a healthy dog just because they need time and patience. ‘It’s a privilege to be on this confidence building journey with her and watch her blossom into a happy member of our pack.’
