Traffic disruption is expected after the fire at a building in Spital Hill on Sunday.

A fire at a derelict building in Sheffield has left the structure unsafe and in danger of collapse. It is believed the fire was started deliberately, according to South Yorkshire Fire Service.

A Sheffield Council spokesperson said the building was examined by the dangerous structures team and was found to be at risk of collapsing. The council warned traffic could be affected on Monday morning and First Bus said some services were running on a diverted route. Three fire crews were called to the scene and left at about 22:55 BST, a fire service spokesperson said.

But firefighters had to return to the site at 23:40 BST as smoke was seen rising from the building again. The crew left at 00:40 BST on Monday.

Yorkshire's mysterious Menwith Hill is making the world safer - Christa AckroydMenwith Hill has long been a mystery, which is precisely why it has attracted so much attention over the years. I have always been fascinated by it and although I have reported many times from its perimeters, I have never been inside what has been described as a small town of its own bursting with military personnel and their families. And there is good reason for that. If we knew more, so would our enemies.

Tackling Northern Ireland's dilapidated and derelict buildings'If this bill does not come and these buildings are left to rot with water getting in, they may be beyond salvage.' Politicians call for new legislation to protect NI's architectural heritage: Not just left to rot either! In 2017 CausewayCouncil removed the only insitu Victorian Grade II listed railway bridge from Castlerock Railway Station so that it could be repaired. There was funding for the work from Government. It's sitting rusting in a Council Yard somewhere. The whole 6 counties have been decapitated and falling down round us for years as well as being blown to pieces. What's the big rush now- a bit late I think. Also a lovely old building going to ruin at the corner of Quay Road and Mary Street Ballycastle CausewayCouncil Such a shame.

The media spent six months talking about cake and curries. But they spent less than six hours talking about the 1000+ girls that were raped, exploited and abused in Telford. Fire chiefs urge against barbecues in 'tinder dry' gardens as heatwave returnsFire chiefs have called for an end to barbecues in gardens during the August heatwave to reduce the risk of fires while “everything is tinder-dry”. So don’t enjoy summer? Gotcha Thank you for information. Do you know that because of Israel's Apartheid Regime, a Palestinian person cannot vote in their own country? WTF. I’ve just ordered a new gas cylinder. That won’t cause a fire.
