To be honest, and this is tough because the law is focused on the literal. But one product of consequence is warning to others. If some other terrorist organisation decides to do this, people when deciding this will know what to expect. Brutal. But then Isis are Brutal.
Struggling to understand why this is an issue in the first place? She joined a terrorist organisation. She wasn’t “groomed” to do so, she did so voluntarily. Reject every appeal, and let her accept the consequences of her decision.
Now that the precedent is establised it should be used more frequently. Although it does raise a question, who is funding her laywers? No doubt there will be appeals all the way to the ECtHR, which should play nicely into the PM's hand.
This is against UDHR which enshirnes right to nationality. State cannot unilaterally deny citizenship.
