When Sexy Fish Manchester was unveiled to the city last October, guests were greeted by waiters in brightly coloured suits decorated with seahorses and male models dressed up like Poseidon, looking slightly uncomfortable as diners not-so-subtly checked out their abdominal muscles.
Dancers adorned with glitter balanced heavy duty sequined crowns and shimmied past the pink onyx bar where bartenders in gold and cyan ensembles poured cocktails from greats heights, and guests supped Perrier-Jouët Champagne under the tentacles of oversized, bejewelled octopuses. It could have been a one-time thing, but this was just the start. And what I’ve come to realise over the last six months is that at Sexy Fish, it’s always Saturday night.
