UK scrapyard workers who found £20,000 while cutting up safes to recycle will donate the money to charity

Sackers scrap metal and waste recyclingStaff at scrap metal dealer who found about £20,000 while cutting up safes to recycle will donate the money to charity after no-one claimed it.

The money has been in police stores since April waiting for the"rightful owner" but they did not come forward.David Dodds, managing director of the Great Blakenham-based dealer, said the two charities to receive the money, which is between £15,000 and £20,000, were"very close to us". Mr Dodds said:"The suspicion is it could have been an old factory that was due for demolition and it was in the corner of their offices. When it's demolished then all the scrap goes into the bin, comes into the works and then we treat it."

I was blown away by the gesture. Now I’m just disappointed by many of these responses. What’s become of us?

Charity starts at home.

FINALLY A GOOD NEWS STORY

Now that's what I call a very kind gesture. How many would do that ?

There's my safe . I've been looking for that every where. Keep the safe just send me the cash

Let's hope it goes to a homeless charity

Most charities are downright scam adjacent if you look at their overhead. This is how the rich get richer and the poor poorer. Since beginning of civ the poor got their minds brainwashed with morality and charity while the rich played by their own rules. Guy should keep it.

Give it to Boris Johnson he's going to need it.

I have a question: are you scared of people with learning disabilities like me?My charity wants to change the way we’re treated – so we need honest answers from you for our new research project What ppl are afraid of is that if you treat someone just like a normal human being you will be accused of being insensitive. I get it. In reality, we all have areas we struggle w/ & shld be empathetic enough to give others grace when needed. Right!wkwkwk... However, I do have issues about when it comes to ppl w/autism bc some parents try to present their children as being above normal or more special. Most of them are not geniuses and have normal IQs, especially those diagnosed as Aspergers, but you can’t say that.
