Scottie Scheffler put his run-in with the law behind him to finish day two in a strong position at the PGA Championship. But after being detained, the 27-year-old returned to the course and finished the day five-under-par and nine-under overall as one of the competition's pace-setters.
It was a sign of things to come as Scheffler put a difficult day behind him to put in an impressive showing given the circumstances. “That was part of my warmup and I was just sat waiting and when doing my warmup I still felt there was a chance I could come out and play.“I still feel like my head is spinning but I was fortunate to make it back out and to play some golf.”There had earlier been a fatal traffic accident near Valhalla when a pedestrian died after being struck by a shuttle bus.
NFL legend Tony Romo reveals how 'insane' Scottie Scheffler has never broken 70 in over 500 rounds of golf against him"It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do.
