Kevin Williams, 50, was killed by a falling tree in woodland near Blackhouse Farm, Eyemouth, Berwickshire, on Monday morning.

An investigation has been launched following the death of a tree surgeon during the course of his work.

The emergency services were called out to the incident but Mr Williams from Kelso, Roxburghshire, was pronounced dead at the scene. “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident in woodland near Blackhouse Farm, Eyemouth, at about 8.40am on Monday.Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A HSE spokesperson said: "We are aware of this incident and supporting Police Scotland with its enquiries."
