Police have marked the 47th anniversary of Scotland's longest running missing persons cases with a fresh appeal for information on Sandy Davidson.
The force's Ayrshire division said on social media on Monday: "Yesterday marked 47 years since the disappearance of Sandy Davidson, who went missing on 23 April 1976, aged 3 years old. Sandy was playing in the garden of his grandmother’s house in the Bourtreehill area of Irvine along with his younger sister Donna, then aged 2, and the family dog.
Donna has campaigned endlessly to find out what happened to her big brother. She shared an old family photograph of Sandy in a post on Facebook at the end of last year.
