Chantelle Drummond, 23, says the lifts in Castle View House tower block are often out of action

A mum has hit out at Edinburgh council after constantly being forced to carry her baby's pram up 12 flights of stairs due to broken-down lifts.

Chantelle - who is mum to three-month-old Leon, Kaden, aged four, and eight-year-old Anastasia - told Edinburgh Live her disabled neighbour even had to crawl up several flights of stairs to get to her flat. "There was an old guy from the 14th floor that was crying at the main door trying to buzz the concierge. He told me he was standing there for half an hour but got no answer."

"As you go 'oh let’s go out' then when I am back both lifts are out and I have to carry a newborn, a pram and help a four-year-old and an eight-year-old up twelve flights of stairs. It’s so hard and so stressful."
