ScotRail services, which were disrupted by heavy rain, are expected to resume normal operations on Monday. The Met Office yellow weather warning has been amended, with the rain expected to ease earlier than previously indicated. Speed restrictions have been lifted, and ScotRail is working to ensure trains run as normal. Passengers are advised to check the ScotRail website or app for updates.

ScotRail services which have been hampered by heavy rain over the weekend are expected to get back to normal on Monday. The rail operator says trains will begin travelling again between the Central Belt, Aberdeen and Inverness following days of bad weather.

ScotRail has confirmed that speed restrictions put in place across the network have now been removed and work is ongoing to make sure trains run as normal tomorrow. David Simpson, ScotRail Service Delivery Director, said: “The vast majority of services will operate as normal on Monday, and we look forward to welcoming passengers to take advantage of our off-peak all day trial.

“Customers are advised to check before travelling by visiting the ScotRail website, app, or social media channels.” Passengers are advised that there may be some remaining alternations first thing on Monday morning as some trains have been left out of place following the disruption, so customers are being encouraged to check their journey before travelling.

Safety checks will need to be carried out on the Far North Line in the morning and speed restrictions remain in place until early on Monday morning on the Kyle line , which means disruption is expected to last into Monday. On Sunday, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency issued 11 regional flood alerts and 18 local flood warnings across eastern and south Scotland.
