Scotland’s chief medical officer has been photographed visiting her family’s second home in Fife during the coronavirus pandemic, despite herself issuing advice to stay at home.
How does driving in a car endanger other people? Did she have a convertible? Go to a drive-in and cough at people? This is the dumbest story I have read in in some time.
Why is she getting all of the grief? What about Boris & Hancock, they have failed in their own advice, how about the Queen & Charles retreating to their country Homes, did THEY get a warning from the Police? - I am fecking sick n tired of the hypocrisy. Feck their rules.
I have been both impressed and proud to see the effective Sturgeon/ Calderwood leadership double act. Calderwood's Trump attitude is crass arrogance that demands resignation and her volunteering a return to front line NHS. Stupidity beyond belief and deeply disappointing. Why?
Get used to it, the elites will do what they want whilst dictating what we will do
Byeeeeee!
so, now we are informing each other
Rules only apply to us peasants.....typical behaviour of the Nasty Nats. A key criteria to reach a senior position is utter incompetence cc NicolaSturgeon
Ok great. Now tackle the Health Secretary who is obviously still sick and is opening mega-hospitals in person so that he doesn't miss out on a photo opportunity.
She should be setting an example. Instead, she is traveling long distances for nonessential reasons. Seriously damages her credibility.
How stupid is that? 1) Arrogance to think that rules don't apply to her. 2) Stupid to think it wouldn't be noticed. Fire her! You need smart medical experts right now and there are plenty around.
Comes as no surprise! Irresponsible.
Let's face it her real crime in The Guardian's eyes is having a second home. The monster.
She should know better. What if she had a car accident on her unnecessary journey and required assistance of our emergency services who are already over stretched. No credibility now I’m afraid...
Perhaps she believes this?
If her actions are allowed and justified then this should justify others travelling to cottages and alike when respecting social distancing. If not then the Scottish people have no reason to respect government instruction nor legislation.
Same happened in NZ. Our Minister of Health drove to a bike park, got busted, and told off by the PM. It's proving really difficult for some of our media to move on.
She's special.
Throughout this episode, I have looked to the Medics & Scientists for guidance, not Politicians. This is very disappointing. No one can argue this was essential travel. The Scottish Government defending her actions is equally as dangerous & reckless.
It was in the Sun. Give us s break from its utter crass guff. And Guardian does not enhance its own reputation by copying and pasting said shite
👍🍀
Probably the same pain who wanted herd immunity.
Would think that this is a time for journalists to lift their game and get beyond the gotcha moment.
..no one is above the law - full stop!
Poor judgement on her part. Despite being careful, even the perception that those providing guidance are not heeding it themselves can reduce adherence to their guidelines.
There sre idiots everywhere.
Boo hoo
😂
