Travel publication Condé Nast Traveller has put together a list of the best traditional and 'luxury' bothies all over Scotland, from the Cairngorms to the Isle of Skye.

While there is certainly no shortage of glamorous hotels all over the country that would be perfect for a relaxing staycation, there are plenty of other options available for those keen for a more unique holiday. Among these is a stay in a bothy.

Whether you are keen to try a classic no-frills overnight stay in a bothy, or need your home comforts, luxury travel publication Condé Nast Traveller has rounded up the best of both.View gallery In terms of traditional bothies, where all you should really expect is a roof over your head, the magazine singled out The Lookout on the Isle of Skye. Situated on the northernmost tip of the island, the bothy has stunning views out across the ocean.

Elsewhere, Condé Nast Traveller also praised Kearvaig near the Cape Wrath Lighthouse at the very north of the mainland. The magazine in particular called attention to the nearby "unspoilt" secluded beach.
