NHS workers in Scotland are set to be up to £2,900 better off than English counterparts
Most NHS workers in England are set to be given a pay rise of just 1% while some unions have called for hikes of 10% or more. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon had already announced all staff would be given a a £500 ‘thank you’ payment last November. The offer was accepted by the majority of unions representing NHS workers and will benefit staff with contracts under the Agenda for Change system, with payments expected to kick in from this summer.
