Scot Gardiner resigns as Inverness CT chief executive

It follows on just days after chairman Ross Morrison stood down following severe backlash from supporters about the board's decision to move the club's training base to Fife.

Amid all of this, Gardiner - an unpopular figure among supporters of Caley Thistle - has made the decision to quit his post as chief exec, however, will see out his notice period.:"Listen, Scot has had a fair bit of grief and stress through the relegation process but we need to stick together and find a way out of this – everybody has to pull together for the sake of the club.

"However, in the circumstances we currently find ourselves in following the loss of the Statkraft contract at Caledonian Stadium which was worth 7 figures to the club and given the new financial position of the club, it is also prudent to approach a suitably qualified insolvency practitioner to advise on how we may proceed should our efforts to find new investment fall short.
