We visited one of Glasgow's famous streets to ask those who live and work nearby how they would spend cash allocated to fix the ‘eyesore’ that has been ‘deteriorating for decades’.

Sauchiehall Street is one of Scotland's most recognised streets and was once a haven of shopping and entertainment.

Shoppers and passers-by offered us their thoughts and all were in agreement about the street’s current condition, but views differed on how the funds could be used to regenerate the run-down stretch.READ MORE: Glasgow tourists warned Lanzarote 'on brink of collapse' with Canary Island 'overwhelmed' His mum Elizabeth, 78, agreed, describing the street’s condition as “terrible, drastic.” Both feel Sauchiehall Street would benefit from cleaner streets and more litter bins.

He is sceptical about current plans for renewal. “There doesn’t seem to be any proper vision as to what’s happening, they’re stitching it together.”
