"We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours."
They added: "At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan." There is sadly no cure for the neurological disease, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. In Randall's memory, the family suggested that a donation could be made to continue the vital research into finding an effective treatment for ALS through the ALS Association.
The couple met in 2015 when Bullock hired Randall to photograph her son Louis' birthday party, and later the actress went on to call him the "love of her life" in an interview in 2021.
