Sam Smith has said he thinks his gender is ‘non-binary’ as he doesn’t identify with being either male or female.

The Stay With Me singer opened up about his sexuality in a new interview with Jameela Jamil and discussed his thoughts towards to gender on, saying: ‘I am not male or female. I think I float somewhere in between – it’s all on a spectrum.’ He explained: ‘When I saw the word non-binary and gender queer and read into it… I thought, “f*ck that is me,” You do not identify in a gender. You are just you.Sam credited his honest chat with Jameela for ‘changing his life’

Sam said he thinks the same about sexuality, adding: ‘You fall in love with people, not genitals. I’ve tried to change that into my thoughts on gender.’Discussing his struggle with identifying himself, Sam said that he had considered having a sex change in the past because he thinks of himself as more ‘feminine’, but decided against the idea.

‘I’ve always had a bit of a war in body and my mind, I do think like a woman in my head at times,’ he confessed.
