Southgate should have made two changes after the first match to keep it fresh. Foden for Mount and Rashford for Sterling. For him to say Foden does not play in the middle for City is the maddest manager comment. Foden can play in any attacking position.

Southgate reminds me of a bad 90s manager. Defenders defend, attackers attack etc, zero transition. Fullbacks and Wingers didn't support each other defensively or offensively despite that being large parts of their game at club level. Its an intelligent group.Has to be tactical.
