Sacked former Tory Party chairman Nadhim Zahawi has apologised for failing to disclose millions of pounds in tax but said it was"careless, not deliberate".
The prime minister sacked him as party chair following the inquiry findings but Mr Zahawi made no apology at the time for his actions, however, did say sorry to his family"for the toll this has taken on them". "I think what was important was that Sir Laurie said that I cooperated fully and I was completely open, in fact I gave him access to my tax returns as a whole, and if the paperwork wasn't correctly filled in then I accept that and take full responsibility for that and I apologise for that," he told the BBC.
Liar. He's as corrupt as the current Iraqi government.
Who does he take us for !
Way toooooooo late and I don’t believe you, I suspect this was the first time, the first time you were caught……..
He set up an offshore account in the name of his parents, transfered assets... and then forgot about it?
When they got money, it's harder to let it go
We Don't Believe You
He’s just sorry he got caught. He knew exactly what he was doing.
Can anyone smell that? Bull 💩
It was deliberate don't lie
Ignorance or carelessness is not a defence for fraud as HMRC has proved.
That’s some accident. Whoops I set up an off shore account in Gibraltar and whoops accidentally sold myself some shares in my offshored company and whoops-a-daisy I forgot to declare massive profits to the tax people or declare it to parliament in register of interests. Silly me.
This guy now has ‘form’ for being careless! Do it again and it won’t be careless, it will be deliberate.

What add agency is the goto for disgraced Tory Ex ministers to rehabilitate themselves ? Business must be booming.
Sending out legal treats to those who spotted his mistakes was deliberate.
Tosser 🤮🤮💩💩
He got caught!!!....end of!!🤔
I am pretty sure that an apology would not save me if I were to break the law, which of course I will try not to do partly by not being careless about it.
Yes, right. How stupid do they think we are.
Did he pay his accountants that messed up? No!
I think he meant his actions were classless not careless. This is what happens when the upper class believe they don't have to abide to the same rules the rest of us have to. While the auditors are talking accountability where are the missing COVID contract billions?!
Yeah. Well. He can piss off.
Lock him up
So handy to be able to reframe your wrongdoing by saying it was just a careless mistake. A nonsense statement that cannot be proved or disproved.
Like his expenses to heat his horses’ stables on taxpayer money ?
So he carelessly threatened journalist who was about to expose his tax fraud?……..sure thin Zahawi
Sorry Officer it was careless of me to do 60mph in a 20mph zone. I think that will work
Was he speaking from his prison cell, if not, why not?
Accidentally arrest the crook
Piss off
Couldn’t care less!
Zahawi apologises for tax bill scandal but shamelessly says actions were 'careless, not deliberate'.
Yeah right.
HMRC description of careless doesn’t mean innocently forgot it means they were negligent.
I was so shocked that he apologised, I fell off my chair and dropped my egg sandwich
So he says
Yeh right.
Deliberately careless
