Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles are classic sweets that have been around for 140 years – but until now, vegans have been missing out.
Nestlé technicians trialled over 30 recipes to remove the gelatine while ensuring the sweets retained the fruity flavour and chew they are famous for.
'How dare you cater for those informed, environmentally-conscious vegans, rather than those like myself with an irrational fear of change. The meat gelatine is the best bit, despite me only learning that it was indeed an ingredient approximately 15 seconds ago.'
