Impaired smell in later life can be an early warning of neurodegenerative and heart diseases, research suggests

Olfactory tests could help doctors spot older adults who are at greater risk of developing dementia, researchers say.

Brilliant knew it.!!! Smell changes have been significant with loved ones.

Not terribly useful for someone with congenital anosmia. My worry is that most doctors (even ENTs) are so poorly educated about anosmia that they won't believe patients who try to explain that they've never smelled anything in their lives and order a bunch of unnecessary tests.
