Wayne Rooney turned down the chance to talk with Everton about their managerial vacancy because he wants to stay and help Derby out of the mess that threatens their entire existence."Everton approached my agent and asked me to interview for the job, but I turned them down," said Rooney.
Everton contacted Rooney's long-time adviser Paul Stretford, who in turn informed the club's administrators that the former England skipper has decided to remain at Pride Park. Rooney repeated his plea for clarity over a preferred bidder for the club, although said the ongoing compensation claims from Middlesbrough and Wycombe, which threaten to land the club with a £60m bill, are "a real stumbling block".

I think his loyalty is commendable. However, I very much doubt he’d receive the same were Derby’s results to falter in the slightest. On a different note, I think it’s a good idea for him to stay where he is. It’s early days as a manager, for him. He doesn’t need PL pressure.

The best decision. He would have been silly to have left Derby, what they are currently doing is incredible and if they do stay up then he will be a Derby legend. Went back to Everton for the 2017/2018 season and left again, probably would have done the same if app manager 😂.
A sports teacher has also declined the Job at EvertonFC as he says he has an important job to do coaching at Gade valley primary school Hemel Hempstead. They are in the 2nd round of the Under 10s school currently and he wants to give the position his full concentration.

Why would he leave derby? Easiest and safest job in football. Lose and its because the clubs skint, win and he's a genius. Can't get sacked, hiding to nothing, valuable experience. Win win
