Rishi Sunak 'to give Tories free vote on Boris Johnson’s future' if he's found to have misled parliament over No10 pandemic parties

faces a televised hearing on Wednesday afternoon, whereby he will have to convince seven MPs that he was not in contempt of the Commons when he denied claims over lockdown-breaking parties at No10.

is understood to have decided that he will not whip MPs to defend Mr Johnson, instead giving them the freedom to make their own decisions.A suspension of more than 10 days could mean Mr Johnson’s constituents will be able to force a by-election.Read more:One Conservative MP told the Times: "If it concludes that Boris is guilty there will be a vote on the floor of the house. It’s a no-win situation.

"But at the same time, if he stops him in the blue wall there will be demands for integrity. It will reopen the splits in the party again."

A vote does not determine if he lied or not. lol

Here we go..they found a window to fob us off, AGAIN..both Sunak and boris should be suspended and never return to politics because as far as I'm concerned, they both lied..ToriesOutNow

The party of organised corruption. Mugabe would be taking notes on this lot

So the corrupt Tories will let him off

What a load of bollox

Mr Integrity wants a vote on whether MPs are ok with ministerial misconduct & deceit?

It’s not about a vote. Johnson lied. Stop trying to whitewash the entire thing.

.

Yeah this sounds Fishi

They’ll only be the bunch of scumbags they are and vote to keep him in. Absolute scumbags. But never let us forget our current prime minister did the exact same thing, and yet he’s got away scot free.

Who's running the the government ? Sure as hell isn't Sunak. GMB,Channel4News, BBCPolitics,ITVNewsPolitics ,SkyNews,

Fake friend. Lmfao

Just let us have a GE and we’ll do the job for you!! In fact , you can all just pack your bags and fuck off!!………how does that sound! 🖕

From the unelected PM RishiSunak .

Why ? Is that the law now ?

Shame they don’t give the public a free vote on their ineptitude GeneralElectionN0W

Additionally, I think sunak is a slimy, slippery character. Wouldn't trust him.

Ummm …

He's staying then...

Coward

Now that's leadership. I don't fucking think.

If?!

Rishi Sunak should be giving the country a free vote on who they want to in government, he won't though as he knows these grubby conservatives are due to be confined to the pages of history at the very first opportunity. Cowards

Wimped out.

Spineless.

I think Johnson would get away with murder. Its all wrong!!

Hang on. If I'm found to have lied & misled people at work my colleagues don't get a vote on whether I'm sacked. Surely if an MP breaks the ministerial code it should not be down to a vote whether they are penalised? It's a matter of ethics, not politics.

Give it to the f*cking public

Seeing as he reappointed everyone who was kicked out (just waiting for NZ to reappear) and has a front bench full of those under ‘investigation’ is anyone really surprised Mr Honesty& Integrity won’t get rid of yet another (if found guilty) breaking the Ministerial Code…

There is no 'if' is there? He did mislead parliament.

Heaven forbid that Rish! Might have yo make a decision...can I call my wife please...she is the one really running the country...

Do you remember that time we all voted Sunak to be prime minister? No, me neither

someone has just tweeed ex PM will not have to endure questions to his evidence to HoC Select Cmmttee this week? Do you know if true?

Uxbridge will have to do what Sunak and his bosses are far to weak to do themselves, show him the political exit.

So…. The grown up in the room….has to ask mother what to do next?

If he's found out to have mislead Parliament, he should be kicked out the Tory Party.

If ? Delusional corrupt politicians

Even if he’s found guilty they’ll still back him

Talk about, passing the buck. Got no balls to dismiss him, get rid

Fraudulent law breaking liars they both are actually remember.

So Rishi Sumak us too lily livered to sack Boris Johnson if he is found to have mislead Parliament! I thought it was an automatic dismissal anyway. Sunak is just as corrupt as the rest.

Yea ok

Why the hell are they voting on it? If he misled parliament he’s out, surely? Where’s the bloody leadership?

Should be kicked out straight away just like anyone In a normal job

Sunak who was also fined for partygate,he said in Parliament he wasn't at any party,he's as big a liar as Boris, pot kettle, black

Seriously grow a spine and make a decision fella

As opposed to removing the whip and deselected him?

Let’s have a public vote to see what we all want to do about the conservatives not just Johnson!

A free vote to the MPs, bet he won’t dare give it to the members. Whatever the outcome, if it backfires , Rishi wants the get out of jail free card ‘ it wasn’t me’

He destroyed the Conservative party from within... The guy is a charlatan & a chancer. But hey... let's see his total humiliation in a GE.. I'll never forgive the lies & the attempts at destroying democracy in this country. Although there is a longer list .

Isn't it wonderful to see Boris still in charge...

Those Tory cowards won't vote against Boris Johnson He's safe, if it's left down to those vegetables

Drain the swamp you bottle less Get !

In other words, pass the book, because he is too weak. I suspect if they voted him to leave, Boris will stick two up, go independent and that will one less seat at the next election for the Conservatives to add to the other 200 loses.

to have not done would have been a scandal - a free vote in these circumstances is the usual procedure.

Sunaks got as much of a spine as an amoeba

Crooks looking after other crooks. They protect their own.

Total whitewash by RishiSunak - can our PM never take a decision in his own?

Weak

Should sack him not put it to a vote x

Rishi Sunak change of heart may end strikes - but could this solution have been arrived at sooner? The progress on strikes is down to a significant shift in position from the prime minister and chancellor - but thousands of cancelled operations and appointments could potentially have been avoided if they had made this decision earlier. Rishi's got a heart ? I thought it was living tissue over a metal skeleton I dont think 5% is going to placate the unions at this point… Not with the current exploded cost of living crisis, utter government wastage & corruption on dodgy pandemic spending. And not with pay-rises for MPs of 25% “Tory Party corruption endemic” Of course Sunak could've done this months ago but chose not to,and saying there's no money is a myth, they seem to find money for wars and we've got more billionaires than ever, there's plenty of money in the economy it's just in the hands of the wrong people? How Australia wrote the 'stop the boats' playbookThe policy slogan used by Rishi Sunak is the same as that used 10 years ago in Australia. Well done to Australia. This is what good governance looks like. 'Right wing Liberal' ? The BBC really does think literally anybody who wants to control immigration into their country is 'right wing'. They're not , they are sensible and in line with mainstream views despite what the diversity obsessed Guardian readers at the BBC think 🤣👍 Laughable that a country built on immigrants arriving on boats from Great Britain, whilst virtually wiping out the indigenous population in the process, should then export their methods on how to stop other migrants on boats arriving, back to the country they originated from. 🤯
