Rishi Sunak has waded into an ongoing row about the rewriting of treasured Roald Dahl books, warning that “it’s important that works of fiction are preserved and not airbrushed”

trilogy, said Mr Dahl’s books should be allowed to go out of print rather than be rewritten, adding that there were lots of “wonderful authors who are writing today, who don’t get as much of a look-in because of the massive commercial gravity of people like Roald Dahl”.

The Prime Minister is also understood to be preparing to make “anti-wokeism” a key part of the Tories’ election strategy. He is expected to appoint a “free speech tsar” in the next few weeks to ensure staff and students are protected from the growing threat of “cancel culture” at British universities.

Roald Dahl’s books edited to remove potentially offensive language – reportsIt's reported that a number of edits have been made to the latest editions of books such as Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and James And The Giant Peach. I would boycott any edition of a book that has been altered without the authors permission, be they living or dead.
