Rishi Sunak claimed in the Telegraph that there are 2,400 remaining EU laws on UK statute books. This was true at the end of the transition period, but more than 400 laws have since been amended, repealed or replaced.

A further 33 have been replaced, which means they have been repealed and new legislation has been introduced. This means that 2,006 pieces of retained EU legislation remain in force.
