The £180 Ember Travel mug claims to keep your coffee at the same temperature for three hoursIt adds: ‘Our smart mug allows you to set an exact drinking temperature and keeps it there for up to three hours, so your coffee is never too hot, or too cold.’

It’s certainly a far cry from former Chancellor Philip Hammond’s pre-Budget photo, which featured a personalised Emma Bridgewater mug. In the House of Commons today, Mr Sunak announced an emergency package of measures to cope with the economic impact of coronavirus. He warned that ‘hardship lies ahead’ but insisted the Government will do ‘all we can’ to keep people in work.

Addressing MPs, Mr Sunak said his ‘plan for jobs’ would help protect livelihoods after the economy contracted by 25% in just two months.
