Merseyside Police were called to New Chester Road in Rock Ferry to reports of shots being fired on the major road. Officers said they received a call at 10.30pm, but believe the shooting happened 25 minutes earlier.
Moments after this, three gunshots can be heard. A third person, who can also be seen running, comes into view of the camera and appears to be following the other two people closely behind. The bus routes 1, 41 and 42 were diverted from the area. Forensic and fingertip searches were also carried out and officers appeared to focus their attention on a grassed area behind an electricity substation near to Thorburn Close.
