Richard Madeley returned to Good Morning Britain in October after a month long break from the show. The often controversial presenter has, in the past, been reported to be at odds with his fellow presenters' opinions and it was an I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! debate that has created the most recent 'on air' conversation of note.
Madeley, 66, slammed this year's jungle contestants for not holding Boy George to account over his past actions. Co-presenter Susanna Reid said: "It was more than 10 years ago that it happened."The singer claimed that the incident, which happened 15 years ago, was carried out whilst under the influence of drugs.
George has been criticised for entering the jungle by some viewers due to his criminal record, according to Cornwall Live. Some show fans have directed their anger towards ITV for hiring the pop star for the series. As the GMB presenters discussed the opinion on air during the show on Tuesday, November 15, Madeley told his co-star Susanna Reid: "He’s not been questioned about it."
As the conversation continued, Susanna said: "It was more than 10 years ago that it happened". Richard responded: "Yeah. He says it was a psychotic episode partly fuelled by drugs, that’s his rationale."
