Newspaper headlines: Concerns over plan to quarantine travellers to UK

The government's plan to force everyone arriving in the UK quarantine for 14 days is the focus of the Daily Telegraph's top story. The paper says the plan - which it says will be brought before Parliament on Tuesday - has caused a revolt among Tory MPs, with tourism and aviation business leaders warning it will ruin their industry.

But the paper's top story is a warning that scammers are posing as coronavirus contact tracers working for the NHS. Trading standards officers in Scotland have received reports of con artists impersonating health service staff and calling from the official number used by the NHS. Contact tracers will never ask for passwords or bank details, the Department of Health says.

Why wouldn't you if you want to halt the spread. It makes total sense. The borders weren't closed as they were in other countries, the very least we can do to stop the spread is to ask visitors to quarantine for 14 days.

The whole track, trace and quarantine is a joke and even the government's own ministers know that. Wake up Britain, Lockdown coming to a town near you soon!

BorisJohnson pritipatel grantshapps Quarantining people now won't work, it should've been done at the start of lockdown or sooner. All it'll do is obliterate the travel & tourism industry, destroy jobs, wreck people's lives & lose £billions for the UK economy.

No surprises. There are better solutions (again!).

These people with masks must be scaring the kids completely

We are hoping to fly to the UK in August. I am British and my wife is American. We are flying to the Uk to see family and we do not want to be held up for 2 weeks in a forced quarantine. We are only visiting the UK for 14 days so we would never get to see our family.

BBC: Parents worried about opening schools Then Revolt over quarantine laws. All I see here is the BBC moaning about anything the gov does.

Why aren't the BBC reporting the 7 cases of Covid from a school at Derby?

This policy will definitely be dropped citing 'improved infection rates'.
