Everything about this booming bass speaker from Skullcandy screams that I’m not the target audience - yet it couldn’t be more perfect for what I need.
The deep bassy sound on the Terrain XL is impressive, when we hit the peak of the Jurassic Park soundtrack, I could almost picture a T-Rex peering through my skylight. The speaker is 7.5 inches tall, but you could be forgiven for thinking it was a huge freestanding old-school sub-woofer type speaker, the power behind this device is quite impressive. It looks the part with a rubberised finish and a durable fabric mesh style covering of the speakers.
The truth is, this speaker is a serious bit of kit and when it was put to the Guns N’Roses Appetite for Destruction test, it made an old favourite sound as brilliant as it did the first time I heard it way back in 1987. Within seconds you will have the sounds reverberating around your chosen auditorium whether it’s the garden, the office, a party, or keeping you company on a long walk.
For those with more of a social calendar than me, and indeed more friends - the product is compatible with other products in the Skullcandy Terrain range meaning you can link up speakers to make your presence felt.
