Leader of the house’s unctuous insincerity fails to hide the fact he hasn’t a clue what’s going on

Crack open the English sparkling wine. Boris Johnson has just won his first Commons vote. OK, it was only a statutory instrument to carry over EU air quality legislation to the UK after Brexit – the parliamentary equivalent of a second round victory in the Johnstone’s Paints Trophy – but these days the prime minister has learned he gets what he can get. Much more of this and he might even get an expression of confidence from the club chairman.

The thing that grates me is he works very hard at maintaining the appearance of a personality to hide the utter lack of depth, values or belief in anything other than his own superiority.

Eviscerating and funny as always John! I’d laugh if it weren’t so horribly true and if these weren’t the abhorrent, incompetent people currently in Government 😢

Alok Sharma, unmemorably average though, what a burn!

Rees-Mogg always reminds of one of those gentle, quiet SS officers who calmly sign off the execution of a train load of children.

Failed to get a result on policy So resorted to Ad Hominem JohnJCrace , YOU'RE FIRED !!

This kind of vitriol should be beneath you.

Erm...speak for yourself. I much prefer JRMs quips to the puppet Owen Jones incessant woke cry-wanking.

I am disturbed

He’s a sandwich short of a picnic

'Jeremy Corbyn called for the European Union to be 'defeated', united as it is with the bankers and the IMF to create austerity and unemployment. (2010) Way beyond the debt crippled, plonk addled, idiot box addicted, FBPE promoting, lower middle classes

He's a lot funnier than Crace. The slimy ones hate humour and after three years of pouring slime on the human race, they are about to be catastrophically wrong. Never mind, back to telling us that Putin is spying on the queen from a spaceship.

Lol. Dim.

Classic Crace - unfunny

Sorry John, he is very amusing, you on the other hand are a knob

John Grace is a cry baby clearly.

Wrong

The type that laughs at his own jokes

oh dear Guardian, feeling the heat are we?

😂😂😂😂😂😂 really? Come on FFS you lot are embarrassing

I know that this is wrong on so many levels, but, Whenever Lord Snooty plays up, I just imagine him auditioning for the part of Frankenfurter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show! It's the image of him in a basque and fishnets, can't stop laughing! Told you it was wrong!

He looks like the real life version of every Monty Python twit ever created

Wrong: Those with an IQ north of 100 find him very amusing.

Unlike the political content creator monkeys at the Guardian ....

grade A bellend

The man is a legend and if only for pissing you lot off.

Sorry but Jacob is part of the toxic and nasty brigade.

Wow - what an unpleasant piece. The author is clearly unsettled and intimidated by Rees-Mogg.

I find the way in which his gentleman parades his various fetishes to be most disturbing. His tortured vowels and bizarre fetishistic mode of dress are most discomforting.

He’s too clever for guardian readers 😉

We are living through Twelfth Night

Haunted Victorian streak of piss.

Remainers losing plot again

The words Rees-Mogg and banter should never be in the same sentence...

Ghastly
