Kensington Palace has shared the heartbreaking reason why they didn't announce Kate Middleton was fighting cancer earlier. They said it was because it did not show up until after her planned abdominal surgery.
Following the surgery, tests showed that Kate had cancer. The princess explained that it took some time for her and Prince William to come to terms with the "shock" news and to tell their children "in a way that is appropriate for them", reports the Mirror. Adding to her statement, the princess revealed they are coming to terms with the news whilst she's recovering from surgery and assures her children she's "getting stronger every day."
"As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits. Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too.
