Rare video of ‘uncontacted’ tribesman using machete and spears in Amazon rainforest hunt

RARE footage shows an “uncontacted” tribesman using a machete and collection of spears on a hunt in the Amazon rainforest.

He can be seen sniffing a machete that has been left in the undergrowth before looking around and growing suspicious that he is being watched. The incredible footage was released by an indigenous media group that wants to raise awareness of the threat posed by illegal loggers, miners and drug traffickers.Flay Guajajara, who shot the image while out hunting and released it through the Mídia Índia platform, said: “We hope this film produces something positive. There are believed to be only around 80 of the nomadic Awá left in a reserve in the Maranhão forest in Brazil.

Tainaky Tenetehar, of the Guajajara tribe, previously told National Geographic how he and his group of Forest Guardians try to protect the “isolated ones”.“The loggers are entering all around the perimeter of the indigenous land.
