Rangers vs Livingston in Viaplay Cup lands TV slot but details to be confirmed

Rangers' Viaplay Cup last eight clash with Livingston has been picked for TV - but details of times and dates will not be confirmed until the end of the month.

Michael Beale's men qualified for the quarter-final stage as his heavily rotated team overcame Scottish Championship side Morton 2-1 at Ibrox after falling behind to a Grant Gillespie penalty following a VAR review. Moments later a spot-kick was awarded down the other end after another review with Cyriel Dessers - who was punished at one end - firing home from 12-yards before substitute Danilo secured the win and passage to the next stage.

Holders Celtic suffered a shock last 16 defeat at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock with Marley Watkins the hero for Derek McInnes' side. It means a new team will get their name on the League Cup this season with the final eight clubs all dreaming of a date at Hampden as they battle it out for a spot in the final four.

Times and dates will be confirmed in due course due to Aberdeen, Rangers, Hibs and Hearts' involvement at the play-off stages of UEFA competition when some clarity on the fixture schedule becomes clearer.

The other ties between Hibs and St Mirren and Aberdeen's trip to Ross County will not be live on TV and have been allocated a 7.45pm kick-off on Wednesday, September 27.
