Manager Bruce Bochy spoke in a brief ceremony before the Rangers faced the Cubs in their Opening Day game.

ARLINGTON, Texas – Around 30 minutes before the first pitch of their Opening Day tilt against the on Thursday, highlights of the run through the 2023 playoffs played on the Globe Life Field video board. Fans showed up in droves well before the start of the game, and a packed ballpark roared as they relived hitting one of his six postseason homers.

He was accompanied by Bochy, who was given a microphone to address the fully-seated packed house. “Thank you,” Bochy began, and then between the raucous crowd and the cavernous echo chamber acoustics of the ballpark, the rest of his speech was nearly unintelligible.
