Rafael Nadal says there is no room in tennis for both the Davis Cup and the new ATP Cup, and has urged administrators to create one “big world team cup competition” in their place.
Neither competition in its latest reincarnation was perfect. Matches in Madrid finished very late. Matches in Australia are played in a different timezone to much of the rest of the world. It was hard to be totally invested in either. And Hopman Cup is gone.
I agree with Nadal. Too much, too close together.
If so, why did you participate in this competition? I don't think you would say the same thing, if your team would have won the tournament.
