Surveillance video showed a man kick down and stomp on an elderly Asian woman on a sidewalk in Midtown Manhattan
An elderly Asian woman was stomped on the face by a man who hurled racist slurs at her, police say. The unidentified man who attacked the 65-year-old woman on a New York City sidewalk on Monday morning remained at large a day after the attack.captured the moment that the man rushed up to a woman walking alone outside a luxury apartment building in Midtown Manhattan and used his right leg to kick her down to the ground.
As the woman tried to sit up, the man used his left foot to stomp on her face and head twice. The man struck the woman’s head with his right foot again before stepping over her, looking back and walking off.The video tweeted by the New York Police Department on Tuesday also showed a man who appeared to work in the building do nothing but close the front glass door after the suspect fled and the woman lay on the ground.
Monday’s attack adds to the spate of racist violence against Asians across the US over the past year. Apparent hate crimes have continued since a series of shootings in Atlanta earlier this month in which six of the eight victims were Asian women.in Midtown wearing jeans, a dark shirt and a light-colored long-sleeve jacket and anyone with information is asked to contact the department.
I am tired of people humanizing white terrorists & excusing their murderous acts, it’s meaningless to help a community that’s being attacked & who feel helpless to stop it.There is no way to justify & rationalize instead of just calling it what it is:a hate crime against Asians!
