Most so-called 'racism' in the forces is good-natured banter and having a laugh. Military personnel have to be tough. Too many snowflakes, moaners and people with chips on their shoulders nowadays.
If you compare our society against our military, then the Services would almost always be seen more favourably. Why? Because it’s an organisation striving to be at the forefront of social, race and gender equality and is accountable. Whilst not perfect, they try harder than most!

I don't play the race card & hate it when the likes of Lenny Henry bleat on but back in 1978 my heart was set on joining the RAF but the careers officers in Reading literally shot my dreams down in flames by saying that I wouldn't withstand the level of racism I'd face.

Racism is an essential form of hate that must exist in the minds of people who join the armed forces. It's a lot easier to justify to one's self the killing of others, if one sees them as inferior or sub-human. Forces of state-sanctioned violence have always depended on racism.
