I don't see comments here wanting making a murderer banned
Where is the money going from the film?
Disgusting, how this film has ever been made beggars belief 🤬
There is no such thing as bad publicity. The film is getting more press and attention from her complaining about it than it would've every received otherwise.
It is pretty damn despicable.
Anybody that goes to see this film is sick in the head and no consideration for the family
Totally agree this is a sick film
I'm still wondering how she didn't see him wander off. She's partially to blame.
Hasn't she participated in a few documentaries already? How come they were ok but this is not?
Please amend your headline. The little boy was called Jamie Bulger. Calling his poor mother “Bulger mother” Really.
Fucking disgraceful
I don't think this film should even have been made. Shows how low the movie making industry will go to make a few bob.
Boycott this film Be nice to see if reporting of this film Can stop by the BBC and others its not in the best interests of the family
The moment the family express their disapproval to the filmmakers should be the moment it’s withdrawn. Show them some respect, they’ve suffered enough.
profiting off the brutal murder of a child and not consulting the victim's family, and then refusing to honour their request to withdraw? sickening.
BBCWorld the parents of these child actors should be ashamed of themselves! So damn selfish.
Offer her so money she'll pipe down!
This is without doubt one of the most horrific crimes in the last 30 years. It resonates to this day and will continue to do so for a long time to come. This should only have been made with the full backing of the family. It wasn’t.
Lambe states that “Critics have ... commended the film for being ... respectful to the victim”. Oh well that’s alright then. Did he ask the family?
How can anyone try to make a film out of such a brutal crime. The mother is right to call for it to be pulled. Also it should never be screened in any cinama. What on earth were studio bosses thinking? A film that should never have been made. Shame on the oscars
Why should he bloody idiot he deserves the credit end of
Seems odd she’s mad at this film when Channel 5 has a documentary on the subject at least once a month.
Hmm a difficult one, my initial reaction was no they should not withdraw. I'm assuming they gave some sort of permission to make the film? So to ask the director to withdraw from an award is, a little unreasonable. Respect to the family and their pain, but this is a tricky one.
Why should he?
I agree should be taken off screen and the award handed back ☹️
So now this lady apparently has the last word on art and free speech? She obviously suffered a dreadful tragedy, but needs to serious stand back and look at what she is saying.
Even this picture with young actors is chilling
I don't believe he should.
