Staying in the Midlands, social media star Lara Mason spent five days making a life-sized Victoria sponge cake of the Queen.It was served up to players at a branch of Buzz Bingo in Birmingham on Tuesday and depicts the 96-year-old wearing a blue sash and silver jewels.
The figure shows the Queen holding a knitted handbag, sash and crown and was created by Holmes Chapel Community Yarn Bombers, who began planning for the Jubilee last July.Anita Armitt, 66, who set up the group with a friend, said about 40 women, aged between 10 and 80, came together for the creations.
