The trio were told there were no tables available but two white men were later seated inside after three black cyclists said they were refused a table moments before white customers were given one.
But the trio were told there were no tables free at the venue overlooking Sully Island in the Vale of Glamorgan – despite it seeming quiet and the outside tables being empty. ‘We informed the two white males who were behind us that they were fully booked inside and outside but asked them to try to get a table.
‘I asked the front of house why he didn’t offer that table to us and why he was treating us less favourably? His reply was: “Due to social distancing laws they could only sit two people at a table with four seats because it would be too close to the table opposite”.’A spokesperson for the pub said it was investigating the incident.
The exact same scenario happened to myself,partner and Grandchild at the weekend. I am white privileged of course, but have a beard. Is this beardism 🤔
Doesn’t surprise me. I remember wales wasn’t very welcoming when I went camping with my mum a few years ago.
Trading Standards should have the business closed down if this allegation is proved correct.
