Now that Intergrade has been added to the PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue, it also means that PS5 owners of Final Fantasy VII Remake can’t claim it and access the Intermission content as part of their subscription.Instead, they’re given an error that tells them the Intergrade bundle clashes with their existing version of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
“You can’t buy this product for the following reasons,” the error message reads. “You already own the following products, which conflict with the product you’re trying to buy: Final Fantasy VII Remake.”version of Final Fantasy VII Remake to the the PS5 version have never been able to then buy Intergrade.
There would have previously been no reason to do so, however, because the Intermission DLC is available to buy separately for £15.99 / $19.99. As such, players simply had to upgrade the base PS4 version to the base PS5 one and buy Intermission to have all the content.

I got it first time I tried. Though I never downloaded the game when it went free on ps plus prior. In all honesty Though, it's ridiculous how messy it is to get a game to download when there's multiple version. Its not often but its still very poor.

This problem isn't limited to this game, i downloaded the spiderman game of the year edition from ps plus and i am not able to play the DLC maps. Have opened a ticket with sony but no resolution yet. Plz more people should voice their concerns or it will be overlooked

If this is intentional then Sony and Square Enix really like to fuck people over. There is NO good reason why anyone that got the digital PS5 version on the old PS Plus should be locked out of Intergrade and Intermission other than to give customers the middle finger.

Yes, because Intergrade doesn't exist on PS4. You only get it in the PS5 version you bought yourself or in a PS4 version you bought yourself and then upgraded. Otherwise there would be no profit. Getting everything for free would have been great for PS+ FF7 owners.
That’s because if you get the PS5 version physical used, or download the base game from ps plus, Square tells you to fuck off. You have to buy the PS4 version either digital or physical and then upgrade to intergrade and THEN buy the DLC. You get fucked if you have PS5 version

Guess I’m bypassing this issue by already having the ps5 upgrade and buying Retrograde dlc upgrade beforehand. It was on sale a month or so back.

My take is, initially Sony put this restriction to prevent customer accidently double bought the game when they can simply bought the separate intermission DLC. So I guess they either take out this restriction or as suggested add intermission in the PS Plus Extra

Yeah it wouldn't let me add the PS Plus upgrade to my library because I had the disc. Even when I deleted the disc version it still wouldn't let me upgrade the PS4 PS Plus version to PS5 when they said it would.
Reason 66 why i buy my games, followed by my ability to access my delisted library still. This all just seems like a headache 😅

I knew there was something odd about that, because I remember a few weeks ago, I tried to see if I had intermission (or w/e it's called) and it said I had to buy it so I put it on my watchlist. Then this tells me I already have it when I had no recollection of buying it.

This is nothing new with PSN. You would be able to claim it if you have the disc version of the game with no problem but can’t claim a digital version when you have the digital version.
