'Prolific burglars' arrested after high speed police chase

Officers said the two men were wanted in connection with a spate of burglaries across Greater Manchester. Yesterday evening , police received reports of a burglary at a home in Blackley, during which three vehicles were stolen.

Two men, who were inside the car, attempted to flee on foot across moorland in Saddleworth but were chased by officers. Sergeant Paul Lockett, of Greater Manchester Police’s Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit , said: “Our unit patrol the roads of Greater Manchester in marked and unmarked cars day and night, working with other teams across GMP to target those suspected of being involved in a wide range of crime with particular focus on burglary, robbery and vehicle crime.
