He had been convicted at the Glasgow High Court in 2019 of assaulting a man to the danger of his life at an address in Kelvin Gardens, Hamilton in June 2018.
The Scottish Prison Service confirmed that police had been made aware of the death and it has been reported to the procurator fiscal.A SPS spokesperson said:"Paul McEwan Lindsay, 31, prisoner at HMP Addiewell died on 31 January 2023.have been notified and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
