Princess Anne looked almost unrecognisable during a royal engagement in Portsmouth as she visited the HMS Victory Conservation Project at HM Naval Base with her husband Sir Timothy Laurence. The Princess Royal, 73, who recently visited Norway on a royal visit, looked stylish as she swapped her skirt suits and dresses for a pair of flared trousers which she paired with a fitted suit jacket and statement patterned blouse.
As part of the visit, which took place on Thursday, 9 May, the royal also wore a brooch in the shape of a crown - a similar design to the Royal Navy and Merchant Services Gold and Pearl Nautical Crown Sweetheart brooch. For the occasion, the duo were joined by Zara’s husband Mike Tindall as well as their cousin Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie as they mingled with guests and met members of the public.
“I thought it was joyful to see this new generation of royals step up to help William at one of the traditional engagements of the year,” she said. “What a shame it was raining, but I think their guests would have been genuinely thrilled to meet this younger, less formal and, let’s face it, more fun generation of royals.
