Dr Julia Patterson of campaign group EveryDoctor tells why she quit health service ‘cut back to its very bones’

Julia Patterson recalls clearly the moment she decided she had to quit two things she treasured – practising medicine and working in the NHS – in order to safeguard her own mental health. “I loved my job,” she said. “I love psychiatry, but I could no longer go to work every day without tackling what was happening.”

My colleagues and I are going through a very similar thing atm. We had a meeting on Friday and was suprised at how many people came out and said how uphappy they are. 😩💔 Again all linked to NHS austerity.

Doctors and Nurses have a very high suicide rate. We should support them.

saddamshaikh1 There is a similar situation here in Norway. Important public services are being squeezed to finance tax cuts to large corporations. Burning through overworked healthcare professionals without regard for the long term cost to workers, patients, or society in general.

It's ok. They are building 60 new hospitals 👌
