European indices all closed gently in the red, capping off a fairly muted day on the markets so far — but one that looks set to turn more ugly once Hong Kong trading begins again. The pound actually had one of its better recent days, but an early-morning blip was enough to vault the August 2017 sticking point against the euro it had been threatening to pass for days.
Any ideas why? I'm struggling.
