Do you know what the weighting factor is or whether this has been published yet? It could be implemented in a number of ways that make it less unfair then a plain old weighting on the grade. Or is it a plain old weighting?

Basing it off the last 3 years is a bit like saying to Liverpool “well we know you have 25 points more than everyone else, but we think we’ll just give it to Man City, but in order to improve mobility, actually would be better if Leyton Orient won it”

A lot will suffer regardless of being poorer or richer. At the same time as preparing for mocks etc over last Christmas some were preparing + having university interviews + UCAS applications. They thought there would be plenty of time before the actual exam. So unfair

The myth of meritocracy in motion.

Yes, this exactly illustrates how meritocratic the education system and society is!

Nothing new

I don't really think that this is any different from usual 🙄

I understand parents worry about their child’s grade, but without actually seing the mathematical mode how can this article say it affects those from poorer backgrounds with such certainty? I think the model should be published... it may be already?

Let’s hope the Universities will be understanding when accepting lower grades for their places 🙏
